Sport Builds Confidence at Youth Off the Streets Netball Gala Day

We were proud to support our long-standing community partner, Youth Off the Streets (YOTS), at their Annual Netball Gala Day at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park. The event brought together students from five YOTS schools across Sydney and the South Coast. As a result, the day became a vibrant celebration of sport, connection and community.

The Gala Day gave young people from diverse backgrounds the chance to take part in friendly yet competitive netball matches. In doing so, the event helped build teamwork, confidence and positive peer relationships. Throughout the day, the courts were filled with energy. Students proudly showcased their skills, determination and sportsmanship.

Meanwhile, representatives from Wenty Leagues, including our Netball Club President, volunteered and supported the event. Their presence helped ensure the day ran smoothly. In addition, their involvement strengthened the long-standing partnership between our organisations.

The competition was fast-paced and engaging. However, it also reflected the different experience levels of the participants. Some students were new to the sport, while others brought more developed skills to the court. As a result, the atmosphere remained exciting and inclusive.

Most importantly, the day was about more than the scoreboard. Instead, it celebrated encouragement, camaraderie and mutual respect. Students cheered each other on and embraced the true spirit of the game.

At Wenty Leagues, we remain committed to our partnership with Youth Off the Streets. Together, we aim to create opportunities that uplift young people. Ultimately, these initiatives help strengthen our communities.
