Tokens from the Heart: Strengthening Community Bonds

For five weeks, Wenty Leagues invited members and guests to take part in Tokens from the Heart, an engaging, community-driven initiative designed to foster a deeper sense of connection. By simply enjoying a meal, participants earned virtual hearts, allowing them to directly support meaningful local causes.

At the conclusion of the initiative, the charity with the most virtual hearts received a $2,500 donation, while the other two organizations each received $1,250 to support their important work. A total of over 780 hearts were allocated throughout the month, with the Children’s Tumour Foundation receiving the highest number of hearts, followed by Assistance Dogs Australia and Dandelion Support Network.

Supporting Local Charities

Three community partners were selected for this initiative, each playing a vital role in improving the lives of individuals within the local area:

  • Children’s Tumour Foundation – The only support service in Australia for individuals with Neurofibromatosis (NF), providing free services to thousands of children affected by this genetic condition, which causes tumors and significant health challenges.
  • Dandelion Support Network – A crucial support network for families in need within the Cumberland area, offering donated new and preloved nursery furniture and baby items to those experiencing hardship.
  • Assistance Dogs Australia – Providing trained service dogs to children and adults with disabilities, this organization enhances confidence, independence, and social integration for individuals within the Cumberland LGA.

A Commitment to Community

Beyond financial support, Tokens from the Heart inspired a shared spirit of giving, enabling patrons to actively engage with organizations that make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families. Through this initiative, Wenty Leagues continues to strengthen community ties and ensure that local charities receive the recognition and support they deserve.
