Volunteers & Donations Bring Relief to Those in Need
Wenty Leagues Club continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to community support and social responsibility through a hands-on partnership with Parramatta Mission, aimed at helping vulnerable individuals in our local area.
Earlier this week, Wenty Leagues management and staff proudly volunteered at Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus program, preparing and serving a hot lunch to community members experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, or social isolation. The day was marked by compassion, teamwork, and meaningful connections as staff stepped outside their usual roles to lend a helping hand.
A highlight of the day was a heartfelt and moving speech from Paul Moussa, a respected community advocate and recent recipient of the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), recognised for his tireless dedication to supporting disadvantaged groups across Sydney. Mr. Moussa spoke passionately about the importance of empathy, advocacy, and sustained support for our most vulnerable.
As part of this initiative, Wenty Leagues also delivered a large volume of essential items donated through its Heart of Wenty Annual Winter Appeal. Thanks to the generosity of members, guests, and staff, Parramatta Mission was able to set up a pop-up ‘store,’ allowing individuals in need to select free winter items—including jackets, scarves, gloves, beanies, and warm bedding such as blankets and sheets.
This collaboration reflects our deep commitment to giving back to the community that supports us. It was a privilege for our team to witness the incredible work of Parramatta Mission and to be part of something so meaningful. It reminded us that small acts of kindness—when done together—can make a big difference.
Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus program runs year-round, providing food, clothing, advocacy, and support services to those facing disadvantage. It relies heavily on the support of volunteers and donations from local businesses and the wider community.
Wenty Leagues looks forward to continuing its partnership with Parramatta Mission and other local organisations as part of its broader commitment to social impact.
