Heart of Wenty Giving Back with Parramatta Mission
We are proud to continue our strong partnership with Parramatta Mission. Together, we provide essential support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. This partnership has grown over time, and it reflects our shared belief that real change happens when organisations and people work side by side.
As part of this collaboration, our staff recently volunteered with Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus program. We rolled up our sleeves to prepare and serve hot lunches for individuals facing homelessness and financial hardship. The atmosphere was filled with kindness, respect, and genuine care. Meals Plus is more than a meal service, it is a safe place where people can connect, share stories, and feel valued.
A highlight for our team was listening to Paul Moussa OAM. He is a respected community advocate and has dedicated his life to supporting disadvantaged groups across Sydney. Hearing his words of encouragement reminded us why partnerships like this matter so deeply. His message reinforced the importance of empathy and the need for long-term action that reaches beyond short-term solutions.
In addition to volunteering, we delivered a large collection of essential winter items. Our Sporting Clubs generously contributed donations, while the Karabi Knitting Group put their time and skill into creating beautiful handmade pieces. From warm clothing to knitted scarves and blankets, these gifts offered comfort and warmth during the colder months. We saw firsthand the gratitude of those who received them.
The experience gave our staff a deeper understanding of the tireless work Parramatta Mission carries out every day. It also reminded us that when community partners come together with a shared purpose, remarkable change can happen. We left the program inspired, motivated, and more committed than ever to continuing our support.
For us, community partnerships are not symbolic gestures. They are responsibilities we embrace wholeheartedly.
