NSW Women’s Premiership Team Lends a Hand at Ronald McDonald House

Wenty NSW Women’s Premiership team recently spent a rewarding day volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, gaining a firsthand understanding of the incredible support the charity provides to children and families facing serious illness.

During the visit, the team was given a tour of the facility and learned more about the vital role Ronald McDonald House plays in keeping families together during challenging times.

To maximise their contribution, the players split into two groups. One group assisted in the kitchen, helping prepare meals for residents staying at the house. The second group spent time with the children, organising and participating in a variety of fun activities including handball, football, basketball, dancing, colouring, and bike riding.

Following the morning’s activities, players, children and families came together to enjoy lunch, creating an opportunity to connect and share stories. After the meal, the team continued their volunteer efforts by helping clean and tidy the kitchen and dining areas.

The visit proved to be a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone involved. Our players were inspired by the courage and resilience shown by the children and their families, and many new friendships were formed throughout the day.

The team were grateful to Ronald McDonald House for welcoming them and for the important work they do in supporting families when they need it most.
