Clubs for Community Gala Dinner | Club Industry Comes Together to End the Cycle of Domestic and Family Violence

Last night, our staff and management attended the inaugural Clubs for Community Gala Dinner at Bankstown Sports Club — a significant event uniting the club industry in a collective stand to end the cycle of domestic and family violence.

The gala marked the launch of the Clubs for Community Committee. Fifty-five clubs, including ours, have committed to creating safer communities. This initiative emphasizes the industry’s dedication to community well-being.

A highlight of the evening was the keynote address by Amani Haydar — an award-winning writer, visual artist, and advocate for women’s health and safety. Amani shared her powerful personal journey as a victim-survivor, highlighting the urgent need for change and increased support for those affected by domestic and family violence.

The event also featured a panel discussion with representatives from various collaborative organizations, emphasizing our collective responsibility in addressing and preventing domestic and family violence. The panel reinforced the message that everyone has a role to play in creating a safer community for all.

We are committed to supporting our Wenty community by continuing to partner with local organizations and initiatives that promote mental well-being, social inclusion, and safety for all.

The Clubs for Community Gala Dinner was a reminder of the impact collective action can have in addressing critical social issues. We all have a part to play in ending the cycle of domestic and family violence. We are proud to be part of this initiative and remain dedicated to supporting efforts that contribute to the safety and well-being of our community.
