Taking Emergency Preparedness on the Road
We have strengthened our commitment to community safety with the introduction of an Elliot Defibrillator onboard our Courtesy Bus, ensuring greater preparedness in the event of a medical emergency.
The addition of the defibrillator forms part of the Club’s ongoing efforts to provide a safe environment for our members, guests and the wider community both within the Club and while travelling on the Courtesy Bus service.
Designed to be compact, intelligent and easy to use, the Elliot Defibrillator provides clear, step-by-step guidance to assist responders during a cardiac emergency. Its user-friendly design enables individuals with little or no prior training to provide potentially life-saving assistance while awaiting the arrival of emergency services.
Sudden cardiac arrest remains a significant health concern, with approximately 70 per cent of cases occurring outside of hospital settings. Immediate access to a defibrillator can play a critical role in improving survival outcomes, making the availability of this equipment an important addition to the Club’s safety measures.
The installation of the defibrillator reflects our proactive approach to health, safety and community wellbeing. While we hope the device will never need to be used, its presence provides an added level of preparedness and reassurance for passengers and staff.
We are proud to take this important step in enhancing emergency response capabilities and supporting a safer community for all.
