International Women’s Day — Accelerate Action

Representatives from Wenty Leagues were proud to attend the annual International Women’s Day event at Revesby Workers’ Club. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, underscored the urgent need for decisive steps toward achieving gender equality.

Guests gathered to hear from a panel of remarkable women who have each made significant strides in their respective fields.

The first speaker, Sallyanne Faulkner, shared her passion for uplifting women. As the ClubsNSW Chair, General Manager of Bayside Women’s Shelter, President of Netball NSW, and Society Group President, Sallyanne has dedicated her career to supporting and empowering women in various industries.

Next, the audience was introduced to Grace Rowe, an energetic and fearless young woman who has carved out a name for herself in motocross. One of the only fully sponsored junior female riders in Australia, Grace transitioned into freestyle motocross, becoming one of the few women in the country to clear a daunting 75ft gap. She also spoke about her work with Stand Tall Australia, an organization dedicated to inspiring and building hope in young Australians.

The event concluded with a captivating performance by Frida Deguise—entrepreneur, chef, stand-up comedian, and owner of L.A Donuts. An Australian-born Lebanese Muslim woman, Frida entertained the audience with her unique blend of humor, authenticity, and determination. While she built an empire with her donuts, it was her passion for comedy and her resilience in breaking into male-dominated industries that made her story so inspiring. Her message was clear: find your passion, take risks, and never let anything hold you back.

Wenty Leagues was honored to attend this inspiring event and celebrate the achievements of incredible women.

On International Women’s Day, we take a moment to recognize the dedication and hard work of the amazing women at Wenty Leagues. We are proud and grateful to have them as part of our Wenty Family.
