Community Generosity Brings Warmth This Winter

As winter settled across Western Sydney, the generosity of the local community once again shone through the Heart of Wenty Winter Appeal, proudly supporting Parramatta Mission.

The annual appeal invited members, staff and community partners to donate new and gently used winter essentials for people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship and social disadvantage. Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Wenty community, hundreds of essential items, including jackets, blankets, socks, gloves, scarves and hygiene products, were collected, resulting in three large deliveries to Parramatta Mission.

A special thank you goes to community partner Karabi Knitting, whose dedicated volunteers handcrafted more than 200 beanies and scarves, along with dozens of winter care packs filled with essential items. Their generosity added a personal touch to every donation.

Working alongside Parramatta Mission, these donations have now been distributed to individuals and families across the local community through the organisation’s homelessness, housing and wellbeing services, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.

The Heart of Wenty Winter Appeal reflects our ongoing commitment to giving back through meaningful community partnerships and practical support. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps provide warmth, comfort and dignity during the colder months.
