Wenty Leagues has been fortunate enough to distribute a total of $630,559.50 in funding to community projects in the Cumberland area. These organisations were presented with funding that went towards supporting initiatives to help improve the quality of life for many individuals and groups in the community. The project will raise awareness of the drivers of violence by providing community education to dads and their sons. Training will address attitudes that promote superiority of men over women and the belief that caring responsibilities are for women.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response service supports seriously injured people involved in severely traumatic incidents such as a motor vehicle accident, falls, recreational accidents, and near-drowning. Every minute saved is vital in emergencies – often making the difference between life and death for the patient. CareFlight is seeking funding to purchase a new ultrasound probe for our existing Lumiy handheld ultrasound to support the diagnosis of critically injured and sick patients in Sydney.

Our Speech Pathologists will support up to 32 students with weekly evidence-based therapies to help combat their challenges at a vital stage of their development. They will also support teachers to best address speech challenges in their classrooms.

Learning Links’ Youth RAW Project is a youth-led project to address the barriers that youth face in relation to achieving sound and resilient mental health and wellbeing. The Power Within is an intensive, school-based program that aims to prevent, intervene and educate young people who are at-risk of becoming survivors of Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV). The program is delivered at YOTS six accredited, alternative education high schools over the course of a school year. The program teaches young people with limited exposure to healthy family and intimate relationships, how to identify, recognise, and respond safely to the cycle of DFSV.

Chapel School and Step Up College support 55 students who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education due to disadvantage. The Next Steps Transition Program works with at-risk young people to provide them with a planned transition from school into further study, training or employment. It engages parents/carers, caseworkers, counsellors, school staff, employment services and the broader community in the implementation of each student’s plans, with timeframes driven by the individual.
