The Quinlan Shield is a competition which consists of indoor bowls, darts, snooker and
table tennis. The shield is played between the major leagues clubs and is a top class
competition.
October/November 2012 Journal Article:
A meeting will be held in November with regards to Quinlan Shield for 2013. Information
will be advised after the meeting is held.
5 indoor bowlers competed in the Australian championship. Results are as follows:
Barbara Hill – Ladies Pairs – 2nd place
Kerry Vial – Ladies Triples – 4th place
Doreen Anderson – Mixed Pairs – 8th place
Phillip Regan – Mens Triples – 6th place (Phillip had to be replaced on Wednesday
due to a severe asthma attack.)
Don Birt – Mens Fours – 4th place
NSW did not do as well this year, finishing equal 3rd with QLD.Final standings were
as follows: VIC 1st – 252 Points, TAS 2nd - 248 points, NSW and QLD 3rd - 202 points,
SA - 176 points.
Terry and Barbara Hogan had to withdraw from the NSW team, owing to Barbara
having a kidney transplant. Barbara is recovering very well and hopes to be back to
bowls before Christmas.
